In today’s rapidly changing digital landscape, companies have to keep apace with emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine-learning to stay ahead. Yet many IT services companies are unable to keep up with the times due to their outdated legacy infrastructures. To help these businesses, hybrid cloud data services and data management company NetApp developed a hyper converged infrastructure (HCI) to introduce scalability and agility into their partners’ IT systems.

IT services company Genesis Networks is a company that has benefited from HCI. Prior to the implementation of HCI, the company struggled to keep up with the dips and spikes in workload due to a lack of flexibility within its IT infrastructure. It faced delays and incurred additional costs when running analytical processes because of fragmented processes. Integrating individual IT solutions into its system and have them work securely and seamlessly with both public and private clouds required time-consuming coordination that was unsustainable in a fast-moving industry.

NetApp’s HCI, with its scalable nature, offered a flexible computing environment that enabled Genesis Networks to allocate and adjust capacity and performance, according to the workload requirements of the client. Deploying the HCI also simplified and automated the integration of the private cloud with the public cloud as well as streamlined other applications and services in Genesis Network’s environment.

“NetApp's technology offers unparalleled performance for file-based storage, ease of management and low TCO (Total Cost of Ownership), which help deliver efficient and cost effective solutions for the organisation.”

— Danny Ong, Vice President and
Chief Information Officer, JCET Group

The newfound agility not only increased productivity, but also brought about substantial cost savings for Genesis Networks. The implementation of the HCI reduced processing time by 30 to 40 percent. Energy and maintenance costs also went down by 50 percent as fewer machines were required to run the operating system. More importantly, NetApp’s HCI helped the company future-proof its business for the next three to five years by arming it with the capabilities to scale on demand in a highly competitive and fast-moving industry.

For its ability to leverage modern technology to help businesses achieve tangible results, NetApp is conferred the Infrastructure Management award.
